MARBRO MURO:
- One of a family of thick plastic coatings (DTU
59.2)
- An ornamental coating based on natural marble
granules for interiors and exteriors.
- Ready to use product (with addition of water -2
to 3%) which can be applied simply and rapidly.
- Product exists in 48 basic colors, perfectly
adapted to the environment of the region.
COMPOSITION
- A resin in aqueous dispersion.
- Marble granulate, naturally tinted.
- Specific additives to ensure good
stability and effective application of the coating as a paste.
USAGE
The product is a decorative coating for
individual, collective, industrial or tertiary buildings, for either
exterior or interior application. Aside from the wall surfaces
mentioned above, the product is also perfectly adapted for use on window
sills, lintels, loggias and support beams.
ALLOWABLE SUPPORTS
Exterior supports:
- Cast concrete (DTU 23.1) with a powder
mortar (Planimur, Planidress, Monocouches).
- Masonry for elements in conformity with
DTU 20.1, covered with a waterproof coating following DTU 26.1 or with
a grey monolayer coating under CSTB certification.
- Old supports: consult PB technical
services.
Interior supports:
- The supports mentioned above.
- Plaster coatings, cardboard
plasterboards, plaster tiles, etc.
- Masonry or concrete wall panels.
SUPPORTS TO AVOID
- Supports exposed to damage by humidity
through capillarity (sub-foundations).
- horizontal or sloping (inclined less
than 45%) exposed to rain (window supports, balconies).
APPLICATION
- Use at a temperature between +5C and
+30C
- Avoid applications on supports that are
frozen, freezing, or thawing or if there is a risk of frost in the
next 24 hours.
- Avoid application at high temperatures
and humidity or in strong winds.
- Apply product only on dry
supports. Otherwise because of the extended drying time, air
bubbles may appear between the coating and the supports.
- Apply in equal thicknesses, not
exceeding 2 grains. Avoid excessive thicknesses during
application.
- For supports covered with a coating or
waterproof paint, consult the NFP 84404-1 referenced in DUT 42-1 annex
B, which indicates the required removal process or the treatment of
the coating already in place. If the organic coating is to be
maintained, apply the Marbro Muro under ideal climatic conditions,
followed by a long period of dry weather and after a treatment that
can ensure the effectiveness of the required under-layer of absorption
(DTU 59-2, 4.22).
- Protection of vertical surfaces.
- The upper angles of vertical surfaces
must be given the appropriate construction treatments, in conformity
with the initial design, for example: ledges, skirts or drips, so that
rainwater does not run into the adhesive surface of the coating.
